Description
Amlodipine, as VEZTENOR ®, inhibits the movement of Ca ions across the cell membrane into vascular smooth muscles and myocytes. Action is greater in the arterial vessels causing peripheral vasodilation and reduction in afterload. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor (type AT,) antagonists antihypertensive which acts by blocking the actions of angiotensin II of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. The drug and its active metabolite selectively block the vasocontructor and aldosterone secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively antagonizing the binding of angiotensin II at AT1 receptors. Light Tan colored round bi-convex film coated tablets engraved ACME on one face and break line on the other face.
Each Film-coated tablet contains Amlodipine besilate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg and Losartan potassium 50 mg.
