Description
Omeprazole (PROSEC ®), the substituted benzimidazole, is an inhibitor of gastric acid secretion. Omeprazole does not exhibit anticholinergic or H2-histamine antagonistic properties, but inhibits the secretion of gastric acid by blocking the H+/K+ATPase (hydrogen-potassium-adenosine triphosphatase) enzyme system, the so-called “proton pump” of the gastric parietal cell.
Supplied 1 vial of Omeprazole (PROSEC ®) 40 mg + 1 ampoule of 10 mL Sterile Water for Injection; box of 1’s.
